The FPV Cycle Cine-Splore pushes developments the Shendrones Squirt brough to the 3in cine-whoop platform. The Cine-Splore centered its design around two factors, the 2203 motors and 25.5 mounting AIO (all in one) flight controller and esc boards. FPV Cycle also spent sometime investigating duct profiles, but released the frame with just a basic duct design. These are some experiments with differe
In addition to playing with different duct profiles from a performance standpoint I also investigated how addressable LEDs could be integrated into translucent prints. These LEDs can be programmed to show battery status, flight mode, signal strength among other things, and can be varied by inputs such as throttle position.
I printed these ducts out of translucent PETG for more impact resistance. I designed in a channel through the middle of the duct so that the 5050 LED strip could be slid securely into the duct without having to rely on adhesives. The ducts are secured with heat set m3 threaded inserts.
Design, print, assemble then test. This frame was a test bed for many different ducts and prop combinations, as well as testing variance between 4s and 6s battery load outs.
